Internship - Debt Finance - January/ June 2027
Clifford Chance is an international business law firm, deployed in 33 offices worldwide. Every day, more than 3,000 lawyers design solutions for their clients, in all areas of business law. In Paris, Clifford Chance's 200 lawyers work on complex and innovative transactions, adapted to the specific context of each market. Our Debt Finance team is composed of approximately 20 lawyers and legal professionals of various nationalities, who advise the most important French and international banks, project finance sponsors, investment funds, and large companies. We assist our clients on a full range of banking and financial products including loan syndication, project finance, public/private partnerships, leveraged finance (LBO), asset finance, and syndication. Our approach to the legal profession is cross-functional and meets the diversity of skills required and the geographical dimension that our clients expect from our services. Thus, the group's lawyers are led to work closely with many specialists from other disciplines within the firm, not only in Paris but also in all other countries covered by our network in order to use Clifford Chance's local and international expertise to serve our clients' needs.
Main Missions From their very first days, our interns are integrated into teams formed according to each type of matter entrusted to us by our clients. Their main missions are: Conducting research on legal questions responding to precise practical situations, particularly within the framework of the structuring and execution of banking and financial transactions Drafting draft deeds (notably, powers of attorney, minutes, securities, and certain other types of contracts), legal opinions, or legal notes Preparing documents and preparatory acts for the signing of contracts and reviewing the capacity of the parties (corporate and regulatory authorizations, etc.) Assisting our lawyers in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of the banking and financial transactions of the firm's clients. Each day brings new challenges and new opportunities to learn. Our interns quickly find their bearings in a stimulating environment.
Desired Profile You are a student at the Ecole de Formation du Barreau or preparing for the entrance exam. Holding a postgraduate degree in law, you have ideally completed your training with an LLM or an equivalent foreign degree or a business school degree. You have ideally acquired initial internship experience, notably within another French or foreign firm or a large French or international bank. An excellent technician, you have a particular interest in international finance and capital markets. You have a perfect command (both written and oral) of English and wish to work in a team, in an international environment.
