Head of Technical Services Element by Marriott Amsterdam Hotel

An ideal role if you are looking for a position in which, in addition to execution, you also bear responsibility for the coordination of activities. You bear the technical responsibility for the Element by Marriott Amsterdam Hotel and Papa's Loft House (located in Element by Marriott). Working hours are in principle during weekdays, with an 'on-call service' during the weekend that is rotated among the team members. Additionally, you are available for 'emergency services' in the event of calamities. Furthermore, we have a sister hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Amsterdam Airport. You will work closely with the head of TD of this hotel, where tasks are divided based on experience and specialization.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Organizing, delegating, and controlling all activities within the Technical Services department.
• Coaching and guiding employees.
• Planning and executing activities in the technical and facility areas.
• You are partly 'on the floor', i.e., leading by example.
• You monitor technical safety and are responsible for complying with technical laws and regulations.
• Responsible for periodic maintenance.
• Ensuring that you and your employees are up to date with the applicable standards. You are responsible for compliance with these.
• Complying with all safety aspects of the hotel and Papa’s Loft House, including instructions and short training sessions to other departments regarding (fire) safety.
• Purchasing and management of materials and maintenance supplies. Solving any problems with suppliers.
• Reporting and resolving malfunctions.
• Checking whether all machines/equipment are working properly.
• You fulfill the role of head of BHV within our organization.
• Ensuring that everything is in order in the administrative area.
• Thinking along about proposals for improvements to the building and installations.
• General management tasks and implementing personnel policy, including drafting and monitoring operational budgets and formulating investment proposals. Additionally, you are responsible for concluding, managing, and monitoring supplier contracts.
• Coordinating the emergency services.

What do we expect from you?

• Minimum MBO working and thinking level.
• At least 3 years of work experience in a technical environment.
• Minimum MTS education.
• Work experience at an international hotel chain is a plus.
• You speak sufficient English.
• You reside within +/- 20 km of Amsterdam.
