Are you an enthusiastic Music and Drama Teacher who can inspire young people and bring the performing arts to life?

Claires Court is seeking a talented and flexible teacher to deliver engaging Music and Drama lessons across its Junior and Senior Schools. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly committed team and help pupils develop their confidence, creativity and performance skills.

The Role

You will teach Music and Drama across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, with opportunities to support pupils at Key Stages 4 and 5 where required.

Alongside classroom teaching, you will support vocal and instrumental ensembles, co-lead the annual junior production and contribute to the school’s vibrant co-curricular programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering inspiring Music and Drama lessons across KS1–KS3
• Supporting the teaching of KS4 and KS5 pupils where required
• Assessing, monitoring and reporting on pupils’ progress
• Creating an inclusive learning environment that supports pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN or EAL
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and pupil engagement
• Supporting vocal and instrumental ensembles
• Co-leading the annual junior production
• Contributing to school performances, events and productions
• Leading at least two after-school activities each week
• Supporting the wider life and values of the school

About You

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic teacher who can encourage pupils to express themselves and develop a genuine enjoyment of the performing arts.

You should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Experience teaching Music and Drama across KS1–KS3
• A strong knowledge of Music, Drama and performance
• Excellent communication and classroom-management skills
• The ability to motivate and engage pupils of different ages and abilities
• A flexible and collaborative approach
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare

The ability to support GCSE Music and Drama would be an advantage. Experience of teaching A-Level Music Technology would also be desirable.
