School Psycologist

-Provide counselling, instruction, and mentoring for those struggling with social, emotional, and behavioural problems.

• Promote wellness and resilience by reinforcing communication and social skills, problem-solving, anger management, self-regulation, self-determination, and optimism.

Work With Students and Their Families to:

1) Identify and address learning and behaviour problems that interfere with school success

2) Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural health

Work with teachers to:

1) Identify and resolve academic barriers to learning

2) Design and implement student progress monitoring systems

3) Motivate all students to engage in learning

-University degree in Psychology

-Ability to understand procedures and function in a school system with regard to the special education play in the overall education of the student.

 -Prior experience in public school is desirable

• Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents, district staff, and community members who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse

• Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing.

-Knowledge of English (B2)
