PROJECT MANAGEMENT MANAGER
Job Description
The Project Management Manager shall be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution and completion of assigned construction projects, particularly aluminium, glazing, architectural metal and related works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and oversee projects from commencement to completion, ensuring works are completed within the approved programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors and other resources required for project execution.
- Review project specifications, architectural drawings, shop drawings, construction drawings, schedules and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal departments on project requirements and site matters.
- Attend project, technical, coordination and site meetings and follow up on all outstanding matters.
- Develop, monitor and update project schedules, work programmes and progress reports.
- Monitor actual site progress against the approved programme and implement corrective or recovery measures where required.
- Ensure timely submission and approval of shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, samples and other project documentation.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery schedules to ensure materials are available according to the project programme.
- Monitor project costs, variations, additional works and potential contractual or commercial implications together with the Quantity Surveying/Commercial team.
- Identify project risks, technical issues and site constraints and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, applicable WSH Regulations, site safety requirements and the company's safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct and participate in project risk assessments, safety planning and coordination with the project WSH personnel.
- Ensure subcontractors and site personnel comply with safety requirements, approved work procedures and site regulations.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, rectification works, handover documentation and project completion requirements.
- Manage defects and outstanding works during the Defects Liability Period where applicable.
- Lead and supervise Project Managers, Project Engineers, Site Supervisors and other project personnel under the department.
- Evaluate project performance and recommend improvements to productivity, work processes, cost control, quality and safety performance.
- Maintain proper project records, correspondence, reports and documentation.
- Perform other project management duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building, Architecture or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant experience in construction project management; experience in aluminium, glazing, curtain wall, façade, architectural metal or related specialist subcontract works will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects, site operations, subcontractors, construction programmes and project coordination.
- Possess Manage Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites certification (formerly known as Construction Safety Course for Project Managers – CSCPM) .
- Good knowledge of Singapore construction practices, Workplace Safety and Health requirements and relevant statutory requirements.
- Able to interpret architectural, structural, shop and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost control, procurement and contract administration.
- Good understanding of risk assessment, method statements, safe work procedures and construction safety management.
- Strong leadership, planning, coordination, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities and work effectively within project deadlines.
- Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management software. Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other construction-related software will be advantageous.
- Able to attend project sites, meetings and inspections as required by the nature of the role.
Preferred Experience
- Relevant project management experience in Singapore's construction industry.
- Experience managing aluminium, glazing, curtain wall, façade and/or architectural metal works.
- Experience managing projects from award through design coordination, procurement, installation, testing, completion and handover.
- Familiarity with local main contractor, consultant and authority requirements will be advantageous.
