Production Supervisor

Role: Production Team Leader / Supervisor – Growing Manufacturer

Location: Staffordshire (Lichfield / Cannock area) Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 + performance bonus Hours: Days only, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays

About the opportunity

An established and fast-growing manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead its shop-floor operation. The business is investing heavily in new equipment and processes.

Over the next year you'll play a central part in bringing new lines into production, from setup and commissioning through to getting them running efficiently.

What you'll be doing

• Running day-to-day production so that output, quality and efficiency targets are hit
• Leading, motivating and developing a hands-on production team
• Helping to plan and roll out new lines and processes as the site expands
• Working with planning to make sure labour, materials and machine capacity match the schedule
• Monitoring KPIs such as throughput, downtime and scrap, and acting on what the data shows
• Getting involved in machine setups and troubleshooting when the floor needs support
• Driving continuous improvement, including waste reduction, 5S and lean practices
• Supporting recruitment, induction and training of new starters
• Working closely with quality and maintenance to keep disruption to a minimum
• Running daily shift briefs and keeping the team focused on priorities

What we're looking for

• 3–5 years or more in a supervisory or team leader role within manufacturing
• A background in plastics, injection moulding, metals or a similar process-driven environment is a real advantage
• Experience of launching new lines or scaling up production would be ideal
• Confident with production reporting, KPIs and working within an ERP/MRP system
• Practical, solutions-focused and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Good Excel and general IT skills
• HND, NVQ or equivalent is welcome but not essential, as solid hands-on experience counts just as much
