Director of Design Strategy & Consulting

Are you a designer who thinks like a consultant? Someone who enjoys solving complex client problems, shaping strategy, and turning ideas into compelling solutions — while also having the commercial instinct to help win new business? We’re looking for a Design Strategy & Business Development Consultant to join our growing team. This is not a traditional design role. You’ll sit at the intersection of management consulting, design strategy, innovation, and business development — working with clients to understand their challenges, identify opportunities, and shape solutions that create tangible business value. Responsibilities: Partner with business development teams to develop winning proposals, pitch decks, case studies and client narratives

Engage directly with clients to understand their business challenges and translate them into design and innovation opportunities

Lead or support discovery workshops, co-creation sessions and client conversations

Apply design thinking, service design and research methodologies to develop experience maps, service blueprints and actionable strategies

Conduct customer, market and trend research to uncover insights and strengthen our propositions

Work closely with consultants, strategists, designers, AI and technology teams to take ideas from vision to value

Help scope engagements, define approaches and articulate the business value of design

Contribute to business development and sales activities — identifying opportunities, shaping propositions and supporting pitches

Who are we looking for? You could come from design, management consulting, service design, innovation, research, or a related field. More importantly, you are someone who: Has a strong grounding in design thinking, service design or design methodologies

Can quickly understand a client's business problem and structure it into a clear approach

Is comfortable moving between research, strategy, design and commercial conversations

Has experience contributing to proposals, pitches, sales or business development

Is a strong storyteller who can turn complex ideas into compelling presentations and narratives

Can translate customer insights into practical, commercially relevant solutions

Is confident working with senior stakeholders and building trusted client relationships

Thrives in fast-moving environments where priorities can evolve

Enjoys working collaboratively across consulting, design, technology and business development teams
