What to expect --------------------------------------
At the Chair for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, research is conducted in both basic science and application-oriented approaches in the field of Clinical Psychology for adults as well as children and adolescents. The research focuses include, in particular, the investigation of the effects of early stress (pre-, peri-, and postpartum) on mental health, as well as the development and evaluation of prevention and intervention measures for mental disorders (including ADHD in adolescence and adulthood).
Your tasks:
- Participation in ongoing research projects as well as the opportunity to develop and implement your own research projects with a perspective on a doctorate and/or habilitation.
- Planning, conducting, and evaluating scientific studies, including literature research, preparation of ethics and third-party funding applications, data collection, statistical data analysis, as well as writing and publishing scientific articles and presenting research results at specialist conferences and congresses.
- Processing research topics from Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults with an application-oriented and/or basic science focus, for example:
- Intervention studies on mental disorders in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood,
- Basic research on the etiology of mental disorders, partly at the interface with medicine and Biological Psychology.
- Preparation, implementation, and follow-up of teaching activities.
- Advising and supervising students, particularly in the context of Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as during internships.
- Participation in academic self-administration.
What you bring --------------------------------------
- Successfully completed Diploma or Master's degree in Psychology, preferably with a clinical focus.
- Strong interest in pursuing a doctorate or habilitation as well as enjoyment of empirical / scientific work.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of empirical studies as well as in writing scientific texts (e.g., within the framework of an empirical Master's thesis).
- Independent, structured, and careful way of working, as well as a high degree of responsibility, motivation, commitment, resilience, and initiative.
- Friendly, confident, and cooperative demeanor when dealing with students, cooperation partners, and colleagues.
