Chief Technology Officer, Financial Services

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to strengthen CGI's financial services business in Finland and to help our clients renew their business through modern technology.

As CTO, you will act as a strategic technology advisor for our financial services clients and as a technological trendsetter for CGI's financial services business. You will work closely with our clients' senior management, business management, and technology organizations. You will help our clients solve key business and technology challenges and identify how modern technology can be transformed into concrete business value.

The role combines strategic client work, deep understanding of the financial sector, modern technology, and business development.

In your role:

• You will act as a strategic technology advisor to CGI's key financial services clients and build a vision with client management regarding the role of technology in business renewal. • You will support clients in significant technology, architecture, modernization, and transformation choices, as well as in building technology visions and roadmaps. • You will form insights into the technological development of the financial sector and constructively challenge the thinking of our clients and CGI. • You will identify new business opportunities together with client and sales management and participate strategically in building important solutions and proposals. • You will connect CGI's technology, industry, and international network expertise to our clients' needs. • You will act as a technological thought leader and mentor CGI's architects, technology leaders, and senior experts.

Technological focus:

We expect from you a strong and up-to-date understanding of modern technology and specifically how it can be utilized in large, regulation-driven financial services environments.

Key areas include generative and agentic AI, modern software development and AI-enabled SDLC, cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, data and modern data platforms, API, event-driven, and platform architectures, modernization of financial services core systems, automation, and legacy modernization.

We do not expect you to be a deep expert in all these areas. However, you need a strong holistic view of the technology field, deeper expertise in several key areas, and the ability to form reasoned views on the application of technologies to our clients' businesses.

Regarding Cybersecurity, identity, and operational resilience, we expect an understanding of their importance for financial services technology solutions and the ability to form views together with deep specialists.

What we require:

To succeed in this role, you need a combination of technological depth, financial services understanding, strategic thinking, and client influence.

We expect from you: • strong expertise in modern technology and the ability to connect technological vision to business goals • significant experience working in a financial services organization or with financial services clients • understanding of financial services business, technology and architecture environments, and the impact of regulation • experience in strategic client work and interacting with C-level stakeholders • evidence of planning or leading significant technology, modernization, or transformation projects • the ability to identify business opportunities enabled by technology and act in cooperation with client and sales management • strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills as well as fluent English skills.

Finnish language skills are a significant advantage, as you will work closely with our Finnish financial services clients. We also value experience from both the banking and insurance sectors, but we do not require deep knowledge of both sectors.

Your background could be, for example, in technology management, technology consulting, enterprise or domain architecture, or technology leadership of large financial services transformations. More important than your current title is your ability to combine technology, financial services business, and strategic client influence.

AI as part of your role:

AI is a central part of the technological leadership of the role. We expect you to understand the possibilities and limitations of generative and agentic AI and to be able to identify where AI can produce real business value in the financial sector.

You will be able to evaluate the impact of AI on business, technology, and operating models, also taking into account security, responsibility, regulation, and risk management. Additionally, you will participate in the development of CGI's AI vision and capabilities.
