Graduate Program - Vibration Testing Engineer - Physical Measurements - M/F
About the company
The MultiPhysics Engineering (MPE) division operates in the field of system electrification for the Mechanical industry in France and internationally, covering all technical themes through major strategic projects such as E-mobility (electrification, light mobility...) and the transformation towards Industry 4.0: digital twin, collection and exploitation of test data, etc. The teams operate across the entire product life cycle: specifications, design/sizing, numerical/physical validation, exploitation, and rely on the calculation/testing approach. The division is organized around the activities of Measurements and Acoustics/Vibration, Multiphysics Durability characterization, multiphysics modeling, and Electromagnetic Compatibility and Electrification (EMC).
Your tasks
About the position As part of our business development, we are looking for a vibration testing and physical measurements engineer whose role consists of proposing technical solutions across the entire field of measurement and sensors.
- Definition of the test plan (choice of sensors, acquisition systems): strain measurement, vibrations, acoustics, voltage, current, flow, pressure, wireless technologies
- Preparation of laboratory manipulations, creation of measurement kits
- Implementation of instrumentation: wiring and sensor installation
- Connection of measurement systems at client sites in compliance with safety rules and protocols.
- Data acquisition according to the experimental plan
- Data exploitation (Signal Processing)
You analyze client needs and define the most suitable technical solutions.
You prepare, manage, and perform tests in the laboratory and at client sites.
You exploit test results, perform associated analyses, and write the corresponding reports.
You coordinate subcontractors and technical partners throughout the projects.
You contribute to identifying the division's R&D axes, particularly in the field of e-mobility (electrification of components and systems): evolution of measurement methodologies, measurements in harsh environments (H2).
You manage your activities according to Quality, Cost, Deadline, and Performance (QCDP) criteria and ensure regular reporting to clients and your management.
Requirements
A graduate of an engineering school, you have a successful first experience (internship or work-study) in the field of physical measurements.
You master the theoretical fundamentals in structural dynamics, rotating machine vibrations, and sensors for voltage, current, flow, pressure, displacement, speed, and strain.
You have knowledge of instrumentation methods, experimental characterization, and signal processing: stress/force/torque measurements, modal analysis, vibration response.
Ideally, you have knowledge of acquisition systems: SIEMENS TestLab, Dewesoft, HBK (Catman).
You enjoy teamwork and have a sense of service.
You demonstrate initiative, have an appetite for R&D, and an advanced level of English.
Other
The position falls under the national collective agreement for metallurgy (IDCC 3248), applied to CETIM.
