About the company

CETIM's "Sustainable Industrial Performance" division is the operational player in transforming manufacturing companies towards the industry of the future and the energy and environmental transition in order to meet current challenges (energy, climate, technological, digital, geopolitical).

The division has two robotics testing units, a clean technologies platform, environmental impact assessment tools, and a laboratory for the characterization of waste, lubricants, and cleanliness. The teams intervene across the entire life cycle of products and mechanical processes (innovation, design, production, use, maintenance, reuse/recycling/recovery).

Your tasks

About the position You will lead industrial projects with a strong design office component in order to support companies in the development of innovative products that meet environmental challenges.

In this capacity, you will intervene from the analysis of needs to the definition of technical concepts, pre-dimensioning, and the drafting of specifications for demonstrators, relying on methods and tools developed in-house.

Your projects contribute notably to the reduction of the carbon footprint, product lightweighting, resource optimization, improvement of durability, as well as the development of solutions promoting reuse and dismantlability.

You will also participate in the development of new support methods and tools to integrate eco-innovation approaches from the early stages of design.

You thus contribute to guiding choices of product architecture, materials, and processes toward solutions that are more environmentally performant.

As a true technical expert, you support industrial players in their design reflections by performing functional analyses, translating environmental requirements into technical specifications, and identifying the most relevant improvement levers.

You compare different solutions and secure technical choices through a rigorous and pragmatic approach.

Finally, you contribute to the animation of a network of partners, experts, and consultants to promote collaborative innovation.

You also ensure the transfer of skills to industrial players by designing and leading training sessions, both in-person and remotely.

Requirements

With an Engineering degree in mechanics or materials, ideally supplemented by a specialization in eco-design or eco-innovation, you have at least 5 years of experience in leading development projects for new products, equipment, or special machines, as well as in facilitating multidisciplinary working groups.

You master the tools associated with innovation and design: functional analysis, needs analysis, specifications, creativity tools, evaluation matrices, and design reviews.

You also possess solid knowledge in the design and industrialization of mechanical products. The choice of materials and processes, feasibility analysis, as well as taking into account cost, quality, deadline, and environmental constraints, are familiar to you.

Comfortable in a design office environment, you master the main technical deliverables (specifications, design reviews, value analyses, justification files) and know how to support projects through to their transfer to industrialization.

Your experience in the setup and management of industrial projects, combined with your ability to unite different stakeholders, allows you to successfully carry out projects with high stakes in innovation and environmental transition.

Your professional English allows you to communicate easily with international clients, partners, and experts, both in writing and orally.

Other

Frequent regional and national travel is to be expected as part of your missions.

The position falls under the national collective agreement for metallurgy (IDCC 3248), applied to CETIM.
