Semi Skilled Operator

Greater Manchester - On-site Full-Time / Permanent Role

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Semi Skilled Operator to join our high-precision manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for manually removing lugs and burrs from thin-gauge sheet metal components to meet strict quality and close-tolerance specifications. Key Responsibilities

• De-lug and deburr metal components using hand tools, files, orbital sanders, and fly presses.
• Work predominantly with thin-gauge aluminium (~90% of workload) requiring careful handling to preserve finish and integrity.
• Perform close-tolerance, high-quality finishing work in accordance with engineering drawings and written work instructions.
• Strictly adhere to site safety protocols and actively participate in maintaining established 5S workplace organisation standards.

Key Requirements & Skills

• Proven track record in manual deburring and metal finishing within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process sheets.
• Hands-on experience operating fly presses, pneumatic/orbital sanders, hand files, and manual finishing tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail with experience working to tight tolerances and high aesthetic/functional standards.
• Strong commitment to workplace health & safety, cleanliness (5S), and team-oriented production goals.
