Operation Engineer
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations, monitoring, and control oftreatment systems such as UF, RO, EDI, DI, IX, softener, mixed bed,media/carbon filters, dosing, neutralization, and sludge dewatering units.
Analyze plant trends, alarms, and process data viaSCADA/HMI to identify abnormalities and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct process optimization to improve energyefficiency, recovery rates, and chemical usage.
Ensure compliance with PUB/NEA discharge limits andinternal QA/QC standards.
Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive andcorrective maintenance activities for pumps, valves, membranes, instruments,and control systems.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis formechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults.
Ensure spare parts inventory and maintenance logs areproperly updated in CMMS systems.
Support performance testing, refurbishment, andmembrane integrity checks.
Perform or supervise calibration and configuration ofprocess instruments (pH, conductivity, turbidity, DO, flow, pressure, level,chlorine analyzers).
Carry out loop checks, verify control signals, anddiagnose MCC/VFD issues.
Coordinate with automation engineers for PLC/SCADAsystem fault isolation and reinstatement.
Ensure compliance with safe isolation, LOTO, andelectrical safety procedures.
Lead and motivate a team of >10 field servicetechnicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence toSOPs and QHSE requirements.
Provide technical coaching, skill assessments, andon-the-job training to junior technicians.
Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, andclient coordination sessions.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuousimprovement within the service group.
Participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and start-up ofnew or retrofit systems.
Support installation, site acceptance, and integrationwith existing plant infrastructure.
Conduct system performance verification and customerhandover documentation.
Ensure adherence to PTW, risk assessment, confinedspace, chemical handling, and work-at-height protocols.
Prepare and submit detailed service reports,calibration certificates, performance summaries, and CAPA recommendations.
Act as the technical point-of-contact for customers,providing professional advice and ensuring service satisfaction.
Participate in standby/on-call duties as per rotationschedule.
Qualifications
Qualifications with Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Chemicalengineering
Minimum 3 years working experience with Water & Wastewater treatmentSystem.
Hands on experience with RO membrane replacement, RO & EDI CIPCleaning, MMF, ACF and Softener Media Replacement.
