Technical Pre-Sales Engineer

A leading international manufacturer is currently recruiting two Technical Pre-Sales Engineers (1 senior, 1 junior) to provide technical support and expertise to distributors and business partners across the UK and Europe.
The role focuses on commercial air conditioning systems and involves close collaboration with technical, sales, marketing, design, and external partner teams. The successful candidate will support pre-sales activities, new product development, technical training, market research, and sales support tools.
The ideal candidate should have extensive technical experience in commercial air conditioning, strong knowledge of A/C systems and relevant UK and EU regulations, and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to European distributors and business partners, including pre-sales enquiries and customer visits
- Research market requirements, new air conditioning products, competitor products, regulations, and industry developments
- Support new product development with European design and sales teams, including technical and service documentation
- Coordinate technical projects with partner companies and European manufacturers
- Prepare and deliver product presentations and technical training and support the development of promotional materials
- Develop and improve sales support software and tools, including functional specifications and software development projects
- Support certification programmes, regulatory activities, product registrations, and relevant industry testing
Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years' technical experience in commercial air conditioning for a Junior position / 8+ years' for a Senior one
- Experience with an air conditioning or chiller manufacturer is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of A/C systems, controllers, and building management systems
- Knowledge of sales support software for air conditioning products
- Good understanding of UK and EU regulations and directives relating to air conditioning
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication, problem-solving, prioritisation, and customer interaction skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Software development experience is advantageous
- Open-minded and comfortable working in a multicultural environment
- Willingness to travel across Europe, sometimes at short notice
Conditions
- Location: West London, UK
- Working Style: office based
- Salary: £40,000 + for a junior position / up to £52,000 for a senior one
- Job Type: permanent, full-time
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00 (35 hours per week, including 1-hour lunch break)
- Start: Negotiable
