Education:

Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience.

Tasks:

  • Direct greenhouse and nursery operations.
  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots.
  • Greenhouse cleaning.
  • Harvest seedlings.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • Tie and secure plants.
  • Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
  • Control reported insect, disease and weed problems.
  • Determine type and quantity of stock to grow.
  • Develop marketing plans.
  • Establish and maintain required environment.
  • Establish work schedules.
  • Hire, train and supervise staff.
  • Maintain financial and personnel records.
  • Order materials and stock.
  • Provide product care and other information and service to customers.
  • Supervise staff in planting, transplanting, feeding and spraying.
