Economist/Financial Markets Directorate/Cash Management Department/Currency Circulation Regulation and Analysis Division
We are looking for an Economist who will be responsible for organizing and regulating cash circulation in the Republic of Armenia, as well as receiving and approving applications submitted by customers of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) for the withdrawal of cash.
Receive, review, and approve applications for cash withdrawals submitted by commercial banks of the Republic of Armenia through the Automated Cash Receipt and Delivery System, and forward them to the CBA Yerevan Cash Office and Territorial Cash Centers (TCCs). Obtain reports from the CBA Yerevan Cash Office and TCCs on cash balances and transactions carried out; consolidate, verify, and reconcile the information with the data recorded in the “ Operating Day” system. Prepare instructions/orders for the cash-in-transit organization responsible for the transportation of valuables of the Central Bank of Armenia.
Consolidate the monthly reports submitted by TCCs and summarize their cash turnover. Establish and maintain a database of cash circulation data for TCCs. Prepare reports and analytical summaries on the activities of TCCs.
Participate in drafting regulations and procedures governing cash circulation in the Republic of Armenia, as well as in the implementation of initiatives related to the automation of cash transactions and the improvement of existing systems.
Collect, consolidate, and analyze statistical data and prepare reports and analytical summaries on the following areas:
Cash turnover of the Central Bank of Armenia;
Cash turnover of commercial banks;
Accounting discrepancies identified at the Central Bank of Armenia.
Perform additional assignments and ad hoc tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Higher education in Economics.
At least 1 year of professional experience in a relevant field.
Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework governing cash circulation and cash operations in the Republic of Armenia.
Knowledge of Economics.
Knowledge of Statistics.
Knowledge of Macroeconomics.
Knowledge of banking, banking legislation, and the relevant regulatory framework.
Excellent command of Armenian and English, and good command of Russian.
