C++ Developer – Frontend & Backend within traffic control systems

We are looking for Frontend Developers and Backend Developers in C++, where one of the consultants will also hold the role of Quality Manager, for Trafikverket.

This is a consulting assignment. The location is Stockholm.

The positions are full-time. The Quality Manager role constitutes approximately 40% of one of the consultants' full-time positions.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and the ability to cooperate.

The Assignment

The assignment involves working in a consulting team with the continued development, further development, and maintenance of existing MCS systems for traffic control. The team consists of frontend and backend developers, where one of the consultants also holds the role of Quality Manager. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the client's product owner and includes development, testing, quality assurance, and production deployment.

Tasks

• Further develop and maintain the existing codebase for the MCS systems LASSY and UMS3 according to the client's instructions
• Develop, test, and further develop functionality in relevant C++ and Qt-based applications
• Perform design and architecture work according to the client's guidelines
• Perform troubleshooting, verification, and quality assurance of software
• Produce and update technical documentation
• Perform integration and testing of road sign systems and sign equipment, as well as support the transition of UMS3 from a pre-production environment to a production environment
• Collaborate continuously with the client's product owner and perform knowledge transfer, regular check-ins, and reporting according to the client's working methodology

Requirements (Note, mandatory)

Requirements for all roles:

• You have at least four (4) years of documented experience in C++ application development in a Linux environment, of which at least two (2) years are in C++20 or newer. The experience must have been gathered over a period of at most ten (10) years.
• You have documented experience working in Linux-based development environments.
• You have documented experience in development in RedHat Enterprise Linux version 9/10 and/or Debian Enterprise Linux version 12/13.
• You have documented knowledge of C++ Core Guidelines or equivalent industry practice.
• You have good knowledge of English and can communicate orally as well as read, understand, and prepare documentation and other material in English. You must also be able to read and understand existing systems, source code, system architecture, technical interfaces, as well as associated documentation and instructions in English.

For you applying for the role of Frontend Developer:

• You have at least two (2) years of experience with Qt 5 or Qt 6 within the last four (4) years.
• You have at least two (2) years of experience with KDAB patterns, Model/View, signal/slot, or QML.

For you applying for the role of Backend Developer:

• You meet all the general requirements above.

For you who can also take the role of Quality Manager:

• You meet all the general requirements above.
• You have at least two (2) years of documented experience in code review and troubleshooting.

(The Quality Manager role constitutes approximately 40% of a full-time position and is combined with one of the developer roles.)

Additional competencies:

It is a advantage if you also have at least two (2) years of documented experience within the last four (4) years in one or more of the following technologies:

• SCons
• Protobuf
• SNMPv3
• NTCIP
• Rabbit-MQ
• MQTT
• Google Test framework

You do not need to have experience in all technologies, as different competencies can be distributed among the consultants in the team.
