Solution Architect – Business Development & Sales
As a Solution Architect, you are a strategic sparring partner for industrial customers at home and abroad. You combine deep technical expertise with commercial insight and translate complex energy issues into feasible, innovative solutions with impact. You work together with international customers, multidisciplinary colleagues, and specialized partners on projects that accelerate the energy transition in industry. You are not a classic salesperson, but rather an expert who helps customers make the right choices. Concretely, this means:
Following up on the full commercial trajectory: You guide industrial customers in Belgium and abroad throughout the entire commercial trajectory, i.e., from the first introduction to contract negotiation and handover to implementation.
Analyzing the business context from a thorough knowledge of thermal processes and a strategic view, and proposing solutions that align optimally with the customer's needs technically, economically, and operationally.
Making the translation between customer demand, engineering, and business case.
Depending on the interlocutor – technical expert, plant manager, or management – delivering the CEE story clearly and convincingly.
Working together with your colleagues from the Studies & Design and Implementation teams to develop a solution that responds maximally to the customer's needs.
Correctly assessing the added value of our technologies and the CEE lab and deploying them purposefully during the sales process.
Preparing, presenting, and substantively defending quotes, with attention to both technical and commercial added value.
Proactively following up on opportunities and building sustainable relationships with customers and partners.
Managing the full sales process in a structured manner in our CRM system, so that every opportunity is meticulously followed up.
Who are you?
You get energy from conversations with customers and know how to quickly uncover the core of a challenge. Thanks to your technical background, you understand complex industrial issues, while your communication skills ensure that you can take customers along in a clear and convincing story.
In addition, you bring the following:
- A master's degree as a Civil or Industrial Engineer, preferably in Energy, Electromechanics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of (commercial) experience within an industrial environment, through which you well understand the context and challenges of manufacturing companies.
- A strong foundation in production processes and energy techniques, so that you can quickly assess which solutions are technically relevant.
- Commercial feeling and the motivation to guide customers from the first introduction to successful collaboration. You work on innovative industrial energy projects for leading companies in various European countries.
- The ability to quickly build trust and tailor your communication to different interlocutors, from technical experts to management members.
- An analytical and entrepreneurial mindset. You see opportunities, think in solutions, and take ownership of your files.
- You are familiar with a structured sales approach (e.g., pain chain, value selling, or challenger sales) and steer your commercial trajectories purposefully based on KPIs.
- Curiosity to thoroughly get to know our technologies, applications, and the CEE lab and to deploy this expertise during conversations with customers.
- You communicate fluently in (technical) English. Knowledge of French and/or German is an important asset given our international customer portfolio.
