Class 2 Driver

The Role

As a Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for completing deliveries and collections safely and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of professionalism. The role will involve load securing using ratchet straps, so you must have previous practical experience with securing loads correctly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving a Class 2 vehicle safely and responsibly
• Completing daily vehicle checks
• Carrying out deliveries and collections as required
• Safely securing loads using ratchet straps
• Ensuring loads are properly restrained before travelling
• Following all site, company and road safety procedures
• Completing relevant delivery paperwork
• Maintaining a professional attitude when dealing with customers and site staff

Ratchet & Strap Experience – ESSENTIAL

Previous hands-on experience using ratchet straps to secure loads is essential for this position. You must be confident with the safe and correct securing of loads and understand the importance of checking load security before and during a journey. Candidates without previous ratchet-and-strap load-securing experience may not be suitable for this role.

Induction & Start Times

Your first day will begin at 7:00am for a full induction and site familiarisation. You'll be shown around the operation, introduced to the relevant procedures and given an understanding of the role before moving onto the regular schedule. Following your induction, the standard start time for agency drivers will generally be between 5:00am and 5:30am. You must be comfortable with early morning starts.

Working Hours

Shifts will typically be around 8–10 hours, depending on the daily workload and operational requirements. The role offers consistent work for a driver who is looking for a long-term opportunity rather than occasional or ad-hoc shifts.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a reliable, experienced and safety-conscious Class 2 driver. You will need:

• A valid Class 2 (C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 2 HGV driving experience
• Practical ratchet-and-strap load-securing experience
• A good understanding of vehicle and load safety
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A professional approach to driving and customer service
• The ability to work 5:00am–5:30am starts
• The flexibility to work approximately 8–10 hour shifts
• A genuine interest in securing a permanent position
