Job Description

Our client is currently recruiting for a Paint Sprayer to join their expanding company based in Eastbourne. You will work closely with other body shop technicians to ensure vehicles are repaired and returned to customers in pristine condition.

Main Duties

  • Prepare vehicles and panels for painting by sanding, masking, filling, priming, and carrying out all necessary preparation work.
  • Mix and match paint colours accurately to manufacturer specifications and repair requirements.
  • Apply primers, basecoats, and clear coats using spray-painting equipment to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Carry out SMART repairs and full vehicle resprays as required.
  • Inspect repaired and painted surfaces to ensure work meets company quality standards.
  • Rectify paint defects, including runs, dust contamination, orange peel, and colour mismatches.
  • Maintain spray booths, paint equipment, and tools in a clean and safe working condition.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and handling of hazardous substances.
  • Work closely with workshop staff to ensure efficient vehicle turnaround times.
  • Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Manage paint and consumable stock levels, reporting shortages when necessary.
  • Carry out final quality checks before vehicles are released to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment at all times.
  • Support colleagues and assist with other bodyshop duties where required.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Proven experience as a Paint Technician/Vehicle Sprayer within a busy bodyshop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of modern paint systems, vehicle refinishing techniques, and colour-matching processes.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
  • A proactive team player with the ability to work independently, use initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well organised, reliable, and accountable for maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Commitment to health and safety requirements and maintaining a clean, organised work area.

Working Hours

42.5 hours per week Mondays to Fridays – 08:00 to 17:00 Saturday 08.00 to 12.00 (1 in 2 on rota)
