_*This position is specifically focused on delivering construction projects in acute and non-acute healthcare settings.*_

*Purpose of the Position *

  • Oversee all construction activities for an assigned construction project, ensuring scope, schedule, quality control and safety are maintained to the highest standard while adhering to budget and scheduling constraints.
  • Promote the values of the company and positive working relationships with all stakeholders to achieve company objectives.

*Specific Responsibilities *

  • Working with the Project Manager, schedule subcontractors, consultants, vendors and material/ equipment deliveries to ensure the timely completion of the project
  • Regularly review quality of work performed to ensure subcontractors are compliant with contracted scope of work, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, health and safety and environmental regulations
  • Maintain exceptional infection control and cleanliness standards
  • Coordinate and communicate with affected stakeholders
  • Plan and direct regular subcontractor meetings to coordinate the project work on site
  • Maintain and update two-week look-ahead schedule, identify conflicts in the progress of the work and communicate issues to project team for resolution
  • Identify and correct any deficiencies and assist in the completion of punch lists
  • In concert with the project team, facilitate required inspections with consultants and local jurisdictions.
  • Maintain daily log of activities on site, update progress photos and maintain project documentation
  • Provide orientation and training to all new site personnel in conjunction with Health and Safety guidelines

*Requirements *

  • Minimum five years construction superintendent experience or similar leadership role in construction
  • Proven track record of delivering projects in healthcare environments, or similarly sensitive environments with a high degree of public interaction
  • Proven track record of being able to plan and manage projects at the site level
  • Motivated team player with a high attention to detail
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize several complex issues at once
  • Legally able to work in Canada

*Other Skills/Abilities *

  • Diploma in Construction Management or equivalent education is an asset
  • Reasonable working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with Procore (or a similar Project Management software)
  • Red Seal trade certificate in carpentry or other trade in is an asset

Pay: $50.00-$65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 ? 50.0 per week

Experience:

  • construction: 10 years (preferred)
