Deputy Managing Director

Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and highly accomplished Deputy Managing Director to spearhead the management for consultancy firm and landmark major transportation infrastructure project and complex building development. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams through intricate design phases, complex statutory approvals, and advanced digital delivery workflows. You will champion design coordination, technical excellence, and authority clearance from initial concept through to final project delivery, ensuring all alignment meets the strategic expectations of the Client.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Support the Managing Director in the overall operational management, business growth, and strategic direction of the consultancy firm.
• Project Oversight: Direction and governance of landmark transportation infrastructure (eg, MRT, highways) and complex building development projects from inception to completion.

• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire multi-disciplinary engineering and project management teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous collaboration.
• Client& Strategic Alignment: Manage high-level stakeholder relationships to ensure all project deliverables, design alignments, and engineering outcomes perfectly match the strategic expectations of the Client.
• Financial& Risk Management: Monitor project P&L, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and contractual compliance to safeguard firm and client interests.
• Champion and lead comprehensive design coordination across multi-disciplinary teams from initial concept through to final project delivery, ensuring seamless integration of all engineering and architectural components.
• Drive and maintain the highest standards of technical excellence, engineering integrity, and quality control throughout all phases of complex building and infrastructure development.
• Statutory Clearances: Oversee the submission and secure timely approvals from local statutory authorities, including LTA, BCA, URA, PUB, and NEA.

Job Requirements

• PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related built environment discipline from a recognized institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer(PE) with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) status is preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in engineering consultancy or project management, with a proven track record in a senior directorate or executive leadership capacity in engineering consultancy or project management, specifically for major airport projects and complex building or large-scale infrastructure developments.
• Proven experience successfully delivering major, large-scale transportation infrastructure or complex high-density building developments in Singapore or the region.
• Deep understanding of local building codes, structural regulations, and statutory approval processes. Strong proficiency in digital delivery frameworks (BIM/IDD).
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Driven by technical excellence and visionary problem-solving.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin for effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with external vendors will be an added advantage.
