Environmental Engineer / Carbon Specialist
Introduction
We are CBAM Estimator, a young SaaS company based in Stuttgart. Our mission is to help companies meet the requirements of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) accurately, efficiently and at scale.
We build modern web platforms that help international manufacturing and trading companies calculate emissions, manage CBAM-related data and prepare the documentation required for CBAM compliance.
We are an international team with diverse backgrounds spanning emissions accounting, environmental science, IT, mathematics and business. We share a commitment to making complex regulatory requirements manageable through a pragmatic and transparent approach.
To support our work with manufacturers in China, we are looking for an Environmental Engineer / Carbon Specialist based in China who combines technical expertise in environmental matters with strong communication skills.
Tasks
You will work directly with Chinese manufacturers, helping them understand CBAM data requirements, collect the necessary emissions and production data, and prepare supporting documentation. You will also act as a bridge between local manufacturers and our international team.
Support Chinese manufacturers in collecting and organising emissions and production data
Help manufacturers understand the technical and data requirements relevant to CBAM
Review GHG emissions, energy and production data to identify missing or inconsistent information
Support the calculation and documentation of embedded emissions of goods using relevant installation and production process data in accordance with CBAM requirements
Conduct workshops and training sessions for manufacturers
Help manufacturers prepare emissions data and supporting documentation for independent third-party verification
Support manufacturers in addressing questions and closing data gaps during reporting and verification
Work closely with our emissions and product teams in Europe
Gather feedback from manufacturers to help us continuously improve our processes, methodology and software
Your profile
You do not need to be a CBAM expert from day one. A strong technical background in environmental engineering, carbon accounting, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or a related field is more important. We will help you develop the necessary CBAM expertise.
