Your tasks

• Production CRO 1 operates the DCS, Fire and Gas, and ESD systems from the Central Control Room while monitoring, controlling, and optimizing processes to minimize plant upsets.
• The role responds to emergencies by controlling plant inhibits and overrides in accordance with approved procedures and Management System guidelines. It also supports the Production Supervisor in maintaining safe, efficient production and is responsible for operating all control systems within assigned areas.
• Work with Production CRO 2 during each shift to monitor, control, and optimize FPSO production systems from the Central Control Room.
• Support Production CRO 2 in monitoring process parameters, alarms, trends, and operating limits across crude oil processing, gas compression, produced water treatment, seawater injection, utilities, flare, chemical injection, and offloading support systems.
• Operate and monitor the DCS, Fire and Gas, and ESD systems under Production CRO 2’s direction and within approved competency limits.
• Support Production CRO 2 during start-ups, shutdowns, plant stabilization, equipment changeovers, process adjustments, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Promptly identify, acknowledge, and report alarms, trips, abnormal trends, equipment faults, and process deviations to Production CRO 2.
• Help maintain accurate shift logs, alarm summaries, production data, handover notes, and operational reports.
• Relay operational instructions and plant status updates among the Central Control Room, field operators, maintenance teams, marine operations, and supervisors as required.
• Support control room emergency response under Production CRO 2’s direction by maintaining clear communication and following approved procedures.
• Support permit-to-work, isolation, override and inhibit, risk assessment, and management of change activities by providing control room status, confirmations, and operational checks.
• Build competence for Production CRO 2 responsibilities through supervised control room operations, coaching, formal training, assessments, drills, and safety meetings.
• Adjust production well streams with client approval.
• Operate plant process and utility systems safely and effectively.
• Monitor process equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation.
• Perform other production-related duties assigned by the Production Supervisor to support safe, reliable, and efficient FPSO operations.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• S/NVQ Level 3 in Hydrocarbon Processing Operations, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least five years of field process experience.
• A minimum HND in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Control room emergency response training is preferred.
• Extensive production operations experience, with knowledge of production, maintenance, applicable technical standards, processes, and legislation.
• Experience applying Safe Systems of Work, including permit-to-work procedures.
• Supervisory experience in an offshore or similar environment is preferred.
• Experience in organising, coordinating, overseeing, and monitoring work.
• Ability to interpret and work from engineering and vendor drawings, including P&IDs and Cause and Effect diagrams.

This post is based offshore in Accra the Rotating Shifts.
