Material Handler

JOB PURPOSE

This position performs the unloading, sorting, packaging and consolidation of parts from suppliers as well as operate powered trucks to unload, load, transport, store and fill materials in the warehouse.

JOB DUTIES

• Unload, sort, package and consolidate parts from suppliers according to the established packaging standards.
• Operate powered trucks to unload, load, transport, store and fill material in the warehouse.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in all areas of the warehouse.
• Ensure that packaged parts are correctly picked and packed for shipments to various destinations.
• Ensure that parts and shipping cases are correctly and efficiently unloaded, loaded and staged with the use of powered trucks.
• Ensure that all shipping cases are marked accurately.
• Ensure that powered trucks and equipment are properly operated and maintained.
• Supports and ensures all safety processes and initiatives are followed to maintain highstandards of safety within the facility.
• Able to lift and carry loads of up to 18 kg
• Perform other duties as and when assigned by Supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Secondary school qualifications.
• Ability to write and speak basic English.
• Preferably at least 1 year of relevant warehouse experience.
• Possession of a forklift licence is an added advantage
