The law firm of Cass & Bishop is seeking a lawyer with real estate experience to cover a parental leave starting in December of 2026, with the potential to stay on as a permanent associate because the firm serves a growing client community. We would like to grow our team.

As an associate lawyer as Cass & Bishop, you will begin your position by assisting a busy real estate department while, at the same time, having immediate opportunities to gain client-facing experience in the practice areas of Wills and Estate Law and Corporate-Commercial Law. As a Cass & Bishop associate, you will be working for one of the oldest, most respected, and busiest law firms in Halton region, functioning as part of a hard-working team that is focused on helping clients and co-workers alike. The feedback we have received is that learning opportunities at Cass & Bishop are ?second to none.? We have worked hard to earn and maintain our reputation for representing our clients' interests with care.

As a legal advisor to clients and the administrative team who support you, expect an often fast-paced, encouraging, team-oriented work environment. Applicants who pass first and second interview portions of our selection process will be given the opportunity to visit the firm and meet potential colleagues, as we want every potential hire to feel confident that they are making the right career choice. The successful candidate will be entering a positive and instructive atmosphere in which the partner lawyers, as well as senior members of the staff, are helping to train you on our processes.

*A note on references: Please provide references from senior supervisors and/or instructors or indicate whether you are willing to provide references from senior supervisors and/or instructors upon request.*

References from senior supervisors will be a deciding factor among the top ranked candidates because maintaining a transparent, professional, and positive relationship with co-workers is vital to our organization. That is to say, the successful candidate will have a good and candid relationship with their former employer. Even if your current employer is unaware that you are considering new employment opportunities, it is vital that we speak to the person who directly evaluates your job performance before making an offer of employment.

Please also note that a positive attitude toward, and acceptance of, following the advice of local public health experts, regarding health and safety precautions relating to COVID-19 and other public health emergencies (e.g., measles, ?mpox,? RSV, etc.), including but not limited to physical distancing, masking, vaccination (if able), respiratory hygiene (e.g., handwashing, coughing/sneezing into a tissue or bend of your arm), and staying home when sick, will be required.

Please note that this is an in-office position, and that work-from-home opportunities are earned _after_ the successful candidate demonstrates their total reliability in supporting clients and co-workers alike.
