Job Summary

Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, maintain accurate financial records in Xero, assist with month-end closing and audits, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of finance matters.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions to ensure accurate financial flow
  • Verify supplier invoices against supporting documents and secure necessary approvals for payment processing
  • Prepare payment vouchers and execute online bank payments for authorized approval
  • Review and process staff claims and reimbursements with proper documentation to ensure compliance
  • Issue customer invoices and credit notes, and record incoming receipts accurately
  • Perform bank reconciliations and update bank balances to maintain accurate cash records
  • Record and maintain accounting transactions accurately in Xero, ensuring entries are supported by appropriate invoices and receipts
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and account schedules to support financial reporting
  • Support intercompany reconciliations and maintain detailed supporting schedules for accuracy
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and compiling supporting documents to facilitate audit processes
  • Follow up with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve outstanding finance matters promptly
  • Maintain systematic electronic filing of accounting and finance documents to ensure easy retrieval and compliance
  • Perform additional finance-related duties as assigned to support the finance team’s objectives

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles to support accurate financial processing
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office for data management and reporting
  • Experience with Xero accounting software is advantageous; training will be provided
  • Strong documentation and electronic filing discipline to maintain organized records
  • Detail-oriented and organized to meet deadlines consistently
  • Responsible, proactive, and eager to learn new finance processes
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
