Are you a Level 4 Diploma-qualified Paraplanner looking to practise genuine lifestyle financial planning?

The FIMS Consultancy is representing a growing boutique financial planning practice seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its friendly Newcastle team.

You will use Voyant cashflow modelling, technical knowledge and professional judgement to help clients understand where they are, where they want to go and how they can get there.

This is not a report-writing factory or a position focused purely on processing pensions, investments and suitability reports.

Adviser pathway or career paraplanner

The business has already helped members of its paraplanning team progress towards becoming Financial Planners.

If that is your ambition, you will receive funded development, client exposure and a genuine pathway into advice.

Progression into advice is not expected. Career paraplanners will be valued equally for their technical knowledge, judgement and contribution to the financial planning process.

AI-supported, people-led

AI is already used to support meeting notes, reports and document production.

Its purpose is to reduce repetitive work and create more time for analysis, judgement, problem-solving and genuine financial planning.

Technology will support your work, not supersede it.

A genuinely friendly culture

This is a close-knit team where people work together, share knowledge and support each other’s development.

The team properly steps away from work at lunchtime. People can have time to themselves or sit together and socialise, with work conversations left until afterwards.

The culture also includes monthly team breakfast mornings, Friday afternoon drinks, charity and community days, team activities and regular social events.

It is a professional environment, but one with a sense of humour and a genuine understanding that people perform at their best when they enjoy where they work.

The role

Working closely with the Financial Planners, you will:

  • Analyse clients’ circumstances, objectives and existing arrangements
  • Produce detailed cashflow models using Voyant
  • Research pensions, investments and planning solutions
  • Help develop suitable financial planning strategies
  • Produce clear, personalised suitability reports
  • Attend client meetings where appropriate
  • Mentor less-experienced colleagues

The practice follows a straightforward, low-cost and evidence-based investment philosophy, avoiding unnecessary complexity and focusing on solutions clients can understand.

About you

You will hold the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and have meaningful paraplanning experience.

Five years is a useful benchmark, but not a rigid requirement. The depth and quality of your experience matter more than the number of years on your CV.

You should understand genuine financial planning, be confident using cashflow modelling and consistently produce accurate, client-specific work.

The offer

Alongside a salary of £40,000 to £60,000, the package includes 26 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, matched pension contributions, funded professional development, structured onboarding and wellbeing benefits.

Working hours are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
