Position Overview:

As a Corporate Accountant, you will be working directly with the CFO to manage all aspects of operational accounting, financial reporting, and business analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages.
  • Prepare month end journal entries (accruals, interco, prepaids, fixed assets, etc.) and working papers
  • Analyze and reconcile GL accounts for month-end ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled
  • Maintaining and updating fixed asset records
  • Oversee the company?s AP and AR functions
  • Assist with the corporate cash flow budgeting and forecasting process, including monthly variance analysis
  • Prepare annual audit information and supporting documents. Liaise with auditors.
  • Assist with the day-to-day treasury and banking operations
  • Research and document technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Assist with US and Canadian income and sales tax filings
  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and document improvements to accounting procedures and systems to maximize efficiency and quality in the accounting team
  • Additional finance and accounting duties as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience and hold, or is close to finishing, your CPA Designation.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (Familiarity with VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and pivot tables are a must).
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards (GAAP/ASPE/IFRS)
  • Effective problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks as part of a team or independently
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to contribute effectively within a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Accounting: 5 years (preferred)
