About Kolomoni

Kolomoni Microfinance Institution (Gambia) is a microfinance institution licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of The Gambia. We are a subsidiary of CapitalSage Holdings, a Nigerian-founded conglomerate, operating across fintech, agribusiness, FMCG, healthcare and export trading, with a presence in multiple African countries and global markets.

We exist for the part of the market formal banking has largely passed over: traders, agents, merchants, MSMEs and ordinary earners who run real economic activity without a bank behind them. We serve them through personal banking and wallets, business banking, corporate and ecosystem payments, agency banking and merchant acceptance.

About the role

You will build the interfaces our customers, agents and internal teams use — responsive, secure, fast, and correct about state. Much of what you build will run on low-end devices over unreliable connections, for people to whom a failed transaction is not an inconvenience.

What you will do

Develop and maintain modern frontend applications, and translate approved product and UI/UX requirements into working interfaces.

Build reusable, maintainable components, and integrate them with backend APIs.

Implement state management, secure authentication and session flows, and role- and permission-based behaviour.

Handle loading, success, failure and exception states properly — including the ones nobody specified.

Build responsive applications that work across supported devices and screen sizes, and optimise loading and rendering.

Apply frontend security practice, write automated tests, and review peers’ code.

Work with backend engineers on API contracts, and keep consistency with the design system.

Requirements

What we are looking for

Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript, with a modern frontend framework.

Strong HTML and CSS; responsive development; REST API integration.

Application state management; authentication and authorization concepts; frontend security principles.

Git, automated frontend testing, browser debugging and performance optimisation.

Real attention to detail in implementing a design, and in usability.
