Data Engineering Lead

To work in CDMX or GDL or QRO or MTY Hybrid Scheme Conversational English required · We are looking for a Data Lead with extensive experience in Data Engineering and Data Platforms, capable of technically leading enterprise data initiatives and participating directly in the design, development, and evolution of modern Data Engineering solutions.

The ideal person must have hands-on experience in Databricks, Apache Airflow/Astronomer, Python, SQL, dbt, and AWS, as well as solid knowledge in governance, quality, observability, and automation of data platforms. · Main responsibilities

  • Lead technically and functionally initiatives related to Data Engineering and Data Platforms.
  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and processes using Databricks, Delta Lake, and workflows/DAGs.
  • Implement and manage workflows through Apache Airflow / Astronomer.
  • Develop data processing and transformation solutions using Python, SQL, and dbt.
  • Design and implement data solutions on AWS.
  • Define and implement CI/CD practices for data platforms and pipelines.
  • Work with tools such as Harness, GitHub Actions, and/or Azure DevOps.
  • Establish and strengthen Data Governance strategies, including:
  • Data catalogs.
  • Data lineage.
  • Data contracts.
  • Metadata management.
  • Implement Data Quality strategies and data masking techniques.
  • Participate in the evolution of enterprise data platforms and Data Marketplace ecosystems.
  • Design and maintain API-based integrations, including access/entitlements management systems.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting practices for platforms and pipelines.
  • Work with observability tools such as Datadog.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, security, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure scalable and reliable solutions.

Indispensable requirements

10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform, or related positions.

Solid hands-on experience in:

  • Databricks
  • Delta Lake
  • Databricks Workflows / DAG
  • Apache Airflow / Astronomer
  • Python
  • SQL
  • dbt
  • AWS
  • Verifiable experience implementing CI/CD frameworks.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Harness, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in Data Governance.
  • Knowledge of Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Contracts, and Metadata.
  • Experience in Data Quality and Data Masking.
