Java Solution Architect - Java Solution Architect Insurance and BFSI

About the company

At Horizonte, we are looking for a Java Solution Architect with an advanced English level and an extensive track record in the insurance, banking, and financial sectors to lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise-scale digital transformation programs. The central objective of the role is to define end-to-end solution architecture, guide key technological decisions, modernize legacy platforms, and technically lead distributed engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance insurance platforms.

Your tasks

• Define comprehensive and resilient architecture for enterprise applications in the insurance and financial sectors, ensuring regulatory compliance and business objectives.
• Design architectural blueprints, technical solution specifications, and technological roadmaps for platform modernization.
• Lead technical architecture sessions with product owners, business experts, and development leaders.
• Translate complex insurance business requirements into robust technical solutions, covering policy issuance, quoting, underwriting, endorsements, claims, billing, and auto and fleet insurance products.
• Design and implement architectures based on microservices, API-oriented integration, and asynchronous events.
• Direct the modernization and decoupling of legacy systems toward modern environments and enterprise clouds.
• Define cloud-native architectures in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services, ensuring container orchestration strategies with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Establish architecture standards, clean code guidelines, best practices, and perform technical reviews to optimize performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with operations engineering teams to implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines with Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

Requirements

Indispensable Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and backend development with Java.
• Verifiable experience in the insurance, banking, or financial services industry domain, with expertise in policy administration, underwriting, claims, and vehicle or fleet insurance processes.
• Advanced mastery of the Java ecosystem in versions 8, 11, or 17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, and JPA.
• Solid experience designing decoupled microservices architectures and web services based on REST and SOAP.
• Mastery of integration and distributed messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, and connection gateways such as Kong, Apigee, or DataPower.
• Hands-on experience in service security using OAuth2, JSON Web Tokens, and OpenID Connect.
• Proven experience in container deployment and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift on Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services cloud platforms.
• Experience in relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Advanced English level
