Senior Solution Architect / Technical Architect (Payments)

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect / Technical Architect to lead a large-scale payments transformation programme for a global financial institution. This role requires a hands-on architect with strong experience in payments, system integration, and modern architecture patterns to drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define solution architecture for payment orchestration and integration platforms.
• Design APIs, microservices, event-driven solutions, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Lead integration with core banking systems, SWIFT/ISO 20022, clearing and settlement platforms, and external payment networks.
• Develop proof-of-concepts and provide hands-on technical guidance to delivery teams.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, security, resilience, and disaster recovery.
• Present architecture solutions to senior stakeholders and governance forums.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Solution, Technical, or Enterprise Architecture.
• Strong background in payments transformation, modernization, or migration programmes.
• Expertise in integration architecture, APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing mission-critical systems within banking or financial services.
• Knowledge of payment ecosystems, SWIFT, ISO 20022, and payment processing platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with AML, sanctions screening, and payment regulatory requirements
• TOGAF, BIAN, or cloud architecture certifications.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation programmes in financial institutions.
