About the Role Cantor Fitzgerald’s IT Infrastructure function manages a technology estate spanning cloud platforms, AI tooling, and on-premise infrastructure across a global financial services firm. As AI adoption and cloud consumption accelerate, the associated cost base is growing quickly and needs dedicated financial intelligence to track, analyse, and optimise it. The Cloud & AI FinOps Analyst is a newly created role in the FinOps & Business Management function, reporting to the Technology Business Manager, and owns the day-to-day tracking, analysis, and reporting of cloud and AI platform costs across the organisation. Systematic visibility and optimisation of this spend does not yet exist — the analyst will create it, with direct exposure to senior IT leadership and as part of an international team working across US, UK, India, and Poland time zones.

What We Offer A build role, not a maintenance role: the chance to shape FinOps practice from the ground up A foundational position in an actively expanding function, with direct senior leadership visibility Direct reporting line to the Technology Business Manager, with regular engagement with the Global Head of Infrastructure A collaborative, international team spanning the US, UK, India, and Poland

Daily tasks

  • Cloud & AI cost tracking
  • Own day-to-day monitoring of cloud spend across AWS, GCP, and Azure, tracking cost by service, environment, team, and application
  • Extend tracking to AI platform costs as adoption grows — token-based API consumption, per-seat licences such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Claude, and hosted model services such as Vertex AI, Bedrock, and Azure OpenAI — so every material AI cost line is captured and attributed
  • Maintain and develop the FinOps platform, moving it from manual data uploads to live API-connected feeds from cloud and AI providers
  • Keep cost data accurate, current, and structured to support analysis and reporting
  • Analysis & optimisation
  • Identify cost anomalies, usage spikes, and waste across cloud and AI platforms, surfacing findings proactively rather than reactively
  • Analyse reserved versus on-demand usage and recommend commitment strategy to optimise cost
  • Identify right-sizing opportunities where consumption does not match allocation across workloads, services, and licences
  • Produce regular variance analysis of actual spend against budget and forecast, with clear narrative on the drivers
  • Reporting & distribution
  • Build and maintain dashboards that make cloud and AI cost data accessible to IT leadership and business stakeholders
  • Develop budget alerting that triggers notifications when spend moves materially outside agreed thresholds
  • Produce monthly and quarterly cost reports for the Technology Business Manager and the Global Head of Infrastructure
  • Support a business-facing view of AI and cloud consumption by business unit and application
