We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Developer to take ownership of a critical SQL Server environment and play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising database solutions. This is an opportunity for a strong SQL professional to influence technical direction, improve database performance, support business-critical systems, and mentor other developers. All the while, working within a collaborative technology team and playing a key role in improving SQL capability across the business.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server database solutions Develop and optimise complex T-SQL including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers Troubleshoot database performance issues, including query optimisation, blocking, and deadlocks Support database security, backups, recovery, and high availability solutions Work with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers

Requirements

5+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server development Strong T-SQL skills and experience with SQL Server 2019+ Experience designing relational databases and data models Background working with high-volume transactional databases Experience with ETL processes (SSIS or similar) Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning and execution plans Experience with SQL Server Agent, backups, disaster recovery, and security Exposure to Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance is desirable
