We are currently looking for a pilot instructor to undergo advanced mountain flight training, aircraft type and emergency situation training, vertical reference / Bambi Bucket training, basic and advanced NVG training, and a night flight qualification. Here are the detailed responsibilities of the position: Provide high-quality flight training to military and civilian students, ensuring safety, competence, and compliance with Transport Canada and FAA regulations. Organize ground and flight training sessions for students of different experience levels. Create and execute customized lesson plans tailored to the needs and progress of each student. Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement. Ensure appropriate aircraft maintenance by performing pre- and post-flight inspections and reporting any issues. Maintain accurate and complete student records, including flight logs and performance evaluations. Stay informed of industry best practices, aviation standards, and regulatory changes. Foster a professional and encouraging learning environment that promotes safety and confidence. Organize check flights, practical exams, and assist students in preparing for certification or course completion. Coordinate with flight school staff to effectively plan lessons, aircraft, and other resources.
We are looking for a candidate possessing the following experience and skills: 3,000+ hours and solid operational experience Minimum 1,000 hours of mountain experience Type qualifications on Bell 407, AS350 – H125, EC120 Longline proficiency Instructional experience, classroom and on-board helicopter teaching - an asset Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Self-starter / takes initiative Office skills: Word/Excel/PDF/PowerPoint Can work at night (NVG training or on contract) Speaks English and Spanish
