Leeds - 4 or 5 days

What’s on offer:

  • c£40,000 - £45,000 FTE
  • 25 days holiday
  • City centre location
  • A varied, hands-on role with direct access to the MD
  • The opportunity to develop the role as the business grows

Fancy being the number one in finance, with the opportunity to make the role your own?

Campbell Grove Talent are working with a growing SME who are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function.

Working closely with the MD and Project Managers, you’ll have real visibility across the business and play an important part in its continued growth.

It’s a varied role where no two days are likely to be the same. You’ll need to be comfortable getting stuck into the detail, particularly the transactional side, while also producing meaningful financial information to support business decisions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Taking ownership of day-to-day finance, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing and payments.
  • Completing bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transactions are recorded promptly.
  • Preparing management accounts, profit and loss reports and cash flow forecasts.
  • Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring actual performance against targets and highlighting variances.
  • Monitoring project costs and providing financial information to support project managers.
  • Managing VAT returns, payroll and other financial compliance requirements.
  • Liaising with the external accountants and providing information for year-end accounts.
  • Maintaining financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Working closely with the MD, providing financial insight to support planning and decision-making.

What are we looking for:

Someone who enjoys variety and is happy rolling up their sleeves. You’ll be strong on the transactional side, have a good understanding of the wider finance function and be confident communicating with people at all levels.

Communication is key, as you’ll be working closely with the MD, non finance colleagues and external accountants.

You’ll also need to be organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership.

You don’t necessarily need to have worked in a number one role before as you will get full support from the MD, but you’ll want the responsibility and opportunity to make a difference.

If you’re looking for more ownership, variety and the chance to really make a role your own, this could be well worth a look.
