Data Center Technician

Our consulting division is recruiting a Data Center Operations Technician for a leading global high-tech organization!

Job Description:

• Working in 24/7 shifts as part of the Data Center Operations team.
• Physical installations of servers, networking equipment, and switches in server farms.
• Troubleshooting hardware issues in a variety of servers and computing environments.
• Providing support to infrastructure, network, and server engineers.
• Performing Rack & Stack, installation of network cards, cabling, and connecting networking equipment.
• Working with monitoring and control systems to identify and handle faults in real-time.
• Performing functionality tests, replacing hardware components, and routine maintenance of the Data Center environment.
• Working in a dynamic and critical technological environment while adhering to procedures and workflows.

Requirements:

• Readiness to work in a 24/7 shift format, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• At least one year of experience working in server farms / server rooms / Data Center.
• Experience in physical installations of servers, switches, and networking equipment.
• Good familiarity with server hardware and experience in troubleshooting hardware faults.
• Experience working with external vendors and support personnel.
• Ability to perform physical work in a Data Center environment.
• Experience working with iLO / iDRAC.
• Familiarity with server operating systems (Windows Server and Linux).
• Basic knowledge of communication and networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
• High personal responsibility, orderliness, ability to work under pressure, and fast learning ability.

Significant Advantage:

• Experience working in an Enterprise environment or a global organization.
• Experience with Dell / HP / Lenovo servers.
• Experience working with optical fibers and networking equipment.
• Relevant military background in the fields of telecommunications, infrastructure, or networking.
