Role Description The Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Café Chavela in Accra. This role oversees daily café operations, including managing the floor, coordinating staff schedules, and ensuring that service standards are consistently met. The Supervisor supports and guides team members, helps address guest inquiries or concerns, and maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, assisting with opening and closing procedures, handling cash and point-of-sale activities, and communicating with management on operational needs. The Supervisor also helps implement café policies, supports training of new staff, and contributes to a positive, collaboration-focused work culture.

Qualifications

Experience supervising or leading teams in hospitality, retail, or a similar customer-facing environment. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with diverse guests and team members. Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage busy shifts efficiently. Basic cash-handling and point-of-sale system skills, with attention to accuracy and accountability. Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and workplace safety. Dependable, proactive, and comfortable making decisions and solving problems during service. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Prior café, restaurant, or food service experience is preferred; familiarity with coffee and pastries is an advantage.
