About the position
C7 Ensenada is looking for an Automotive Designer / Industrial Designer with proven experience in the automotive industry and solid knowledge in Class A Surface Modeling. Our company specializes in the design and manufacture of carbon fiber components for sports, racing, and high-performance vehicles. We are looking for a designer who combines technical ability, creativity, and automotive judgment, and who can transform a concept from its early stages into a functional design ready for manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive components from scratch.
- Create and modify Class A surfaces for automotive applications.
- Develop prototypes and concepts for exterior parts.
- Modify existing components such as bumpers, side panels, and aerodynamic elements.
- Redesign parts to achieve a more aggressive, sporty, and attractive appearance, while maintaining functionality and manufacturing feasibility.
- Work on improvements related to airflow and aerodynamics.
- Perform surface modeling, solid modeling, and polygonal modeling.
- Create high-quality renders and visual presentations.
- Prepare technical drawings and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to take designs from concept to finished part.
Essential requirements
- Professional experience in automotive design or automotive component development.
- Proven experience in Class A Surface Modeling.
- Proficiency in professional CAD / 3D modeling / surface modeling tools.
- Experience developing automotive prototypes or components.
- Ability to produce high-quality automotive renders.
- Professional portfolio is indispensable.
- Advanced English.
- Availability to work on-site in Ensenada, Baja California, or willingness to relocate.
Software
We especially value experience with one or several of the following:
- Autodesk Alias
- CATIA
- Rhino
- CREO
- SolidWorks
- Fusion 360
The following will also be considered a plus:
- KeyShot
- 3ds Max
- Blender
- Corona
- Photoshop
- Illustrator or equivalent tools.
It is not necessary to master all the mentioned programs. For us, it is more important to demonstrate real experience in automotive design, surface modeling, and Class A.
