Azure Cloud Engineer Senior

Your tasks

We are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to technically lead the operation, optimization, and evolution of a cloud infrastructure platform based on Microsoft Azure. The position will have a key role in operational design, capacity planning, automation, business continuity, and continuous improvement of cloud services, working with different technical teams and coordinating with the vendor in the event of critical incidents and platform evolution needs.

• Act as the Microsoft Azure technical reference for the teams involved in the operation of the services.
• Review and manage cloud infrastructure design documents, including servers, storage, networks, and backups, ensuring compliance with Azure best practices.
• Develop and execute infrastructure capacity plans, prepare storage forecasts, and analyze consumption trends.
• Review SLAs, identify operational risks, and propose corrective actions.
• Lead problem management, root cause analysis, and the escalation of critical incidents with Microsoft Azure.
• Define and drive automation and continuous improvement strategies through ARM/Bicep, Terraform, Ansible, RunDeck, and GenWizard.
• Technically lead Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) exercises and keep cloud environment recovery plans up to date.
• Participate in platform governance, reporting status, risks, mitigations, and capacity evolution.
• Keep standards, operational documentation, and runbooks up to date.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.

Mandatory requirements

• Mastery of Azure services: Virtual Machines, AKS/Container Instances, Azure Database, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Queue Storage, Service Bus, and Azure Backup.
• Experience in design and governance of cloud operations at scale, capacity planning, operational architecture, and infrastructure standards.
• Solid knowledge of networking in Azure: VNET, subnets, NAT Gateway, VPN Gateway, Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, and VNET Peering.
• Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (ARM/Bicep and Terraform).
• Experience in automation with Ansible and scripting via Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience leading technical escalations with cloud providers and managing critical incidents.
• Knowledge of ITIL v4 and experience with ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow or equivalents.
• Experience in DRP exercises and business continuity in regulated environments.
• Previous experience in technical leadership or coordination of cloud operation teams.
• Intermediate-advanced technical English for documentation and support with the vendor.
