Product Development Supervisor

We are looking for a Product Development Supervisor to lead localized development projects for automotive components, acting from the definition of technical requirements to the introduction of the product into mass production. The position will have a strong interface with global teams, suppliers, and cross-functional areas, being responsible for ensuring innovative, competitive technical solutions aligned with the organization's quality standards.

Responsibilities and duties

• Lead localized development projects for automotive components, ensuring deadline, quality, cost, and performance.
• Conduct market studies, technical feasibility analysis, and define strategies for the localization of products and components.
• Coordinate the development of engineering solutions, including design, technical specifications, drawings, BOM, and product documentation.
• Manage all stages of the product development cycle, from concept to mass production.
• Plan and monitor validation activities, performance tests, reliability, and component certification.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards, regulatory requirements, and certifications applicable to the Brazilian market.
• Coordinate schedules, resources, and activities between Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Processes, suppliers, and international teams.
• Support the industrialization of new products, including try-out, process validation, and technical support during production ramp-up.
• Manage technical documentation, engineering changes, and product standardization.
• Act in the resolution of quality problems, promoting continuous improvements in projects, materials, and processes.
• Develop cost optimization initiatives through design improvements, supplier localization, and BOM rationalization.
• Technically lead strategic R&D projects, contributing to product innovation and competitiveness.

Requirements and qualifications

• Completed Higher Education in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related areas.
• Solid experience in automotive product development, component engineering, or R&D project management.
• Experience in the full product development cycle, from concept to mass production.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, and engineering change management.
• Experience with engineering software, such as CATIA, AutoCAD, UG/NX, or SolidWorks.
• Advanced English for working in a global environment.
• Technical leadership capacity, project management, decision-making, and coordination between multidisciplinary teams.
• Availability to work 100% on-site in Camaçari/BA.

Will be considered a differentiator:

• Experience in automakers (OEM) or Tier 1 suppliers.
• Experience with localized development of automotive components.
• Knowledge of exhaust systems, automotive seat structures, cross car beam, structural body components, or similar systems.
• Experience with supplier development, certification tests, incentive programs such as MOVER and Lei 9.440, or the implementation of new factories and new products.
