Product Engineer - Homologation (Sales Division)
- Vehicle and Component Approvals
-Develop model and variant approval matrices and timelines for passenger and commercial vehicles, including PHEV and BEV where applicable. -Lead DLT type approval and registration readiness, including vehicle and variant classification, alignment of drawings and physical dimensions, inspection and testing arrangements, technical dossier submission, and follow-up on authority requirements before launch. -Identify applicable TISI requirements for vehicles, batteries, and regulated components; manage licenses, factory audits, testing, conformity of production (COP), retesting, and corrective actions with Engineering and Quality teams. -Coordinate test plans and technical evidence with accredited laboratories and overseas R&D teams, including safety, braking, lighting, noise, emissions, and electric powertrain requirements where relevant. -Maintain controlled records of certificates, test reports, approved specifications, VIN and variant data, authority correspondence, expiry dates, and regulatory changes.
- Market-Specific Compliance
-Lead Thailand vehicle approval activities, including applicable DLT requirements, TISI standards, and OIE ECO Sticker processes. -Coordinate with Excise and Finance teams on vehicle classification, technical evidence, and eligibility for applicable tax or EV measures; ensure product data and ECO Sticker declarations match the approved vehicle. -Assess applicable requirements for vehicle battery systems, charging interfaces, safety, emissions, and noise according to the relevant vehicle category.
- Local Production and Launch Control
-Support local assembly and production readiness by mapping approval changes between imported, pilot, and SOP vehicles and ensuring drawings and production specifications remain aligned. -Coordinate regulatory inputs with Customs, Excise, and OIE specialists regarding local content evidence, import or CKD classification, and production commitments where applicable; escalate matters requiring tax or legal interpretation. -Maintain a launch risk tracker with milestones, decision owners, and mitigation actions; promptly escalate gaps that could affect importation, production, registration, or sales.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field. Equivalent relevant regulatory experience may be considered. At least 3–5 years of experience in vehicle homologation, regulatory affairs, certification, or automotive product engineering in Thailand. Direct automotive homologation experience is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of DLT processes and TISI approvals, with the ability to read and understand regulations, technical drawings, test reports, and vehicle specifications. Experience with OIE ECO Sticker and Excise submissions will be an advantage. Familiarity with local homologation processes and standards for vehicles and automotive components. In-depth knowledge of Thai homologation regulations, standards, and processes. Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders. Good command of Thai and English, both written and spoken, for coordination with authorities, factories, and R&D teams. Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges throughout the homologation process. Strong project management skills to coordinate testing and certification activities.
