AV Support Officer

Salary: $3,000 – $3,500 per month, depending on qualifications and relevant experience
Contract Period:
- Base Period: 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027
- Option Period: 1 January 2028 to 30 June 2028
Option to Extend: The School has the option to extend the Contract for a further period from 1 January 2028 to 30 June 2028.
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:15am to 4:45pm, inclusive of 1-hour lunch break
- Fridays: 7:15am to 4:15pm, inclusive of 1-hour lunch break
- The candidate may be required to work beyond these hours on certain days and, at times, on Saturdays and Sundays. In such cases, the candidate will be compensated with off-in-lieu.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The AV Support Officer will support the operation, maintenance and management of Audio-Visual (AV) equipment and facilities of the school. The role will also support staff and students in ICT and multi media training, production and post-production of multimedia products.
Assist in School-Wide Operation of Audio-Visual Facilities
- Provide AV/Multimedia technical support to staff to facilitate the delivery of lessons, CCA, exams, meetings and school events and functions
- Set up AV/Multimedia facilities in rooms and venues for lectures, exams, school events and functions
- Set up and perform live streaming and video-conferencing
- Plan and implement sound integrative AV/Multi media operating procedures in the school
- Provide technical advice in terms of AV/Multi media equipment and related software that the school can purchase to support teaching and learning, exams, events and functions
- Work closely with the ICT team (e.g. ICT Manager/Associate, Desktop Engineers) on AV/Multimedia requirements and support required by staff, students and Infocomm Club (CCA)
- Provide training for staff and students on the use of AV/Multimedia facilities
Assist in AV/Multimedia Production and Training
- Provide live-streaming/video-conferencing support for coverage of school events and functions
- Work closely with the ICT team (e.g. ICT Manager/Associate, Desktop Engineers) on AV/Multimedia requirements and support required by staff and students
Maintenance and Management of AV/Multimedia Equipment and Inventory
- Perform servicing and repair for AV/Multimedia equipment
- Maintain usage and service records of AV/Multi media equipment, and replacement of AV/Multimedia equipment in rooms and venues (e.g. concert hall, media studio, assembly and meeting areas)
- Manage loans of AV/Multimedia equipment via school standardised loan procedures
- Perform asset checks of AV/Multimedia equipment
- Work closely with HOD ICT and ICT Manager/Associate insourcing for procurements, monitoring expenses and budget for costs incurred as part of maintenance and/or replacements
Other Duties
- Project management of commissioned school works on AV/Multimedia facilities, including planning, liaising and coordination between various stakeholders (e.g. vendors, school users etc.)
- Other duties pertaining to the area of AV/Multimedia (e.g. trouble shooting of PA system and Media Studio) when assigned by School Leaders, HOD/ICT, ICT Manager/Associate and Infocomm Club teacher-in-charge
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of Diploma or equivalent relevant qualification
Skills
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and provide advice for AV systems in school, including:
- Various types of AV equipment such as visualisers, projectors, speakers, control panels, switchers and mixers
- AV systems in special rooms such as auditoriums, including sound control panels, microphone set-ups and matrix systems
- Experience in live-streaming, video conferencing or equivalent in a school environment would be an advantage
- IT-savvy with good computer skills to seamlessly integrate audio-visual usage with school needs
Experience
- At least 2 years of working experience as an AV Support Officer or equivalent
- Experience in managing AV at events, functions and projects would be an advantage
- Experience in managing assets, maintenance and replacements would be an advantage
- Experience in providing training to staff and/or students on the use of AV equipment would be an advantage
- Experience in handling AV/ICT equipment in a school environment would be an advantage
- At least 1–2 years of experience performing full-spectrum support for live performances in concert halls similar to the School’s Concert Hall would be an advantage. Client references may be required for verification.
