Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Tasks:

• Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials.
• Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products.
• Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers.
• Clean work area.
• Read blueprints and drawings.
• Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
• Read and interpret work orders.
• Load and unload vehicles using forklift or dolly.
• Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually .

Welding techniques:

• MIG.
• TIG.
• Flux core arc welding (FCAW).
• Gas metal arc welding (GMAW).

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

• Attention to detail.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Personal suitability:

• Team player.

5 years or more.
