Manager Data and Technology (Branch Manager)

This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Office of Financial Integrity. As a Manager Data and Technology (Branch Manager), you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of Federal financial transactions.

Major duties

As a Manager Data and Technology (Branch Manager), you will: Recommend goals, strategies, and plans required to meet the objectives set by the program agencies, OMB, and Treasury. Support the business process, and data architecture, and reporting functions of the program. Manage the team(s) under him/her and master not only technical solutions like data modeling tools, data integration tools, metadata repository, data warehouse dimensional modeling techniques, and business intelligence reporting tools but also clearly communicate the business benefits and impacts of the business process strategy and data strategy with business leaders across the Department of the Treasury, specifically with the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, internal and external governance groups, and integration partners. Deal with far-reaching and enterprise-wide strategic issues that have an impact on a variety of governmental programs. Make recommendations on policy formulation and long-range planning to senior leadership to accommodate the changing landscape of a highly visible program.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience for the GS-14, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Experience leading interdisciplinary teams to enhance business processes, develop technical strategies, and shape plans supporting financial and payment integrity efforts; AND - Experience managing financial or data driven products to prevent improper payments, with focus on data integration, modeling, analytics, architecture, and data management; AND - Experience conducting policy and business analyses to create strategies and plans for updating financial systems and data models. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Requirements

All newly appointed employees to the competitive service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation.
