Tasks and Activities

Departmental Areas of Responsibility:

  • International affairs of the healthcare system and health policy, insofar as these do not fall within the scope of another organizational unit
  • Coordination of the department's cooperation with the WHO, the UNO and the Council of Europe in the field of health ("liaison office")
  • Representation of the department in the leading bodies of the WHO
  • Representation and protocol matters for the health sector
  • UN Agenda 2030 for sustainable development in the field of health
  • Bilateral relations in the field of health

Tasks of the Applicants:

  • Coordination of positions for EU coordination meetings in Geneva, the World Health Assembly, the Executive Board, the EURO Regional Meeting
  • Preparation of WHO documents and relevant documents from the health sector
  • Processing of legal issues and working with legal texts
  • Answering Parliamentary inquiries
  • Drafting ministerial information, statements, departmental positions, etc.
  • Participation in meetings/working groups including minute-taking
  • Protocol matters, especially regarding Memoranda of Understanding
  • Coordination and answering of (bi- or multilateral) inquiries

Requirements

General Requirements:

  • Austrian citizenship or unrestricted access to the Austrian labor market
  • Completed university degree in Law
  • Prior knowledge/experience in the health sector is an advantage
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Very good IT skills, especially MS-Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong ability for independent, responsible, precise, and structured work as well as networked thinking
  • High degree of social competence, flexibility, teamwork and communication skills, excellent appearance
  • Efficiency and effectiveness in performing tasks, goal orientation, commitment, resilience (working under time pressure)
