Planning Engineer

BUILDORAMA is seeking a Planning Engineer for the central monitoring and scheduling of the company's active construction projects in Crete.

The position is based in the central office in Chania and works directly with management, the Technical Office, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and regular updating of master project schedules
• Preparation of weekly and three-week look-ahead schedules
• Collection and evaluation of daily and weekly progress data from construction sites
• Comparison of planned vs. actual progress
• Timely identification of deviations, delays, and critical activities
• Analysis of the impact of potential delays on the overall schedule
• Preparation of corrective or acceleration schedules where required
• Collaboration with the Technical Office to integrate technical decisions and deadlines into the schedule
• Linking material requirements, subcontractors, and deliveries to the project schedule
• Monitoring critical procurement and delivery dates
• Monitoring the physical progress of projects
• Drafting weekly and monthly progress reports
• Regular updating of management regarding project status, delays, and critical issues
• Organization of a clear and reliable monitoring system for all active projects

The position is a vital part of BUILDORAMA's organized operations and aims to transform information coming from construction sites and the Technical Office into clear and informed schedules and reports for management.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical specialty
• Preferably at least 3 years of experience in construction project planning
• Good knowledge of the construction process and work sequencing
• Very good knowledge of MS Project
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 will be considered a significant additional asset
• Very good knowledge of MS Excel
• Experience in drafting and updating project schedules
• Understanding of critical path and activity interdependence
• Ability to compare planned and actual progress
• Ability to prepare short-term and three-week schedules
• Ability to identify delays and prepare corrective schedules
• Understanding of the relationship between procurement, lead times, and the construction schedule
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Ability to simultaneously and systematically monitor multiple projects
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to draft organized reports
• Organizational skills, accuracy, and consistency
• Ability to collaborate effectively with construction sites, the Technical Office, and management
• Very good knowledge of English

Previous experience on a construction site or in a Site Engineer position will be particularly valued.
