/ Secretary Location: Northampton Salary: Up to £34,000 DOE Working Hours: Monday to Friday, ideally 7:30am – 4:30pm Start Date: ASAP Our client is a leading construction contractor based in Northampton, with over 40 years of industry experience. The business specialises in delivering scaffolding and brickwork packages across major construction projects, working with some of the UK's leading residential contractors, including Balfour Beatty, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey. Operating across London, Northampton, Cambridge and the surrounding areas, they have built a strong reputation for delivering projects to a high standard while maintaining excellent client relationships and continuity of service. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced Office Administrator / Secretary to join their team and provide key administrative support across the business. The Role This is a crucial role within the business, acting as a key link between departments and the initial point of contact for clients, suppliers, subcontractors and general enquiries. The successful candidate will have a strong background in c ompany administration or secretarial support, with experience managing company documentation, invoices, schedules and general office administration. You will need to be highly organised, professional and confident communicating with people at all levels, whilst being able to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Key Responsibilities Respond to general enquiries via email, telephone and in person Manage and organise company inboxes, ensuring enquiries are dealt with promptly Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls in a professional manner Act as an initial point of contact for clients, suppliers and subcontractors Organising of transport and logistics across the business Maintain accurate company records and filing systems Manage and maintain company documentation Assist with invoices, schedules and general administrative processes Schedule appointments and coordinate meetings Provide administrative support to project teams and other departments Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors as required Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and within required timescales Monitor and maintain office stationery and stock supplies Provide general support to the wider office team as required About You The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an Office Administrator, Company Administrator, Secretary or similar administrative position, ideally within a construction or related industry. You will be: Highly organised with excellent attention to detail A strong and professional communicator Confident dealing with clients, suppliers and subcontractors Organising transport and logistics Scheduling vehicle inspections and operational administration Flexible and dynamic, with the ability to manage changing priorities Comfortable working independently and using your own initiative Punctual, committed and hardworking IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment What's on Offer?
