Enjoy working with VAT and want to develop your tax knowledge within an international IT business? An established IT business is expanding its Leicester finance team and looking for an Assistant Tax Accountant to work closely with its experienced Tax Manager. Whether you are working in practice, handling VAT within an SME or already in a tax role, this is an opportunity to put your practical knowledge to use and broaden your experience.

Your role

VAT will be your main focus. You will support VAT return activities, investigate queries and help resolve issues, including liaising with HMRC where required. Working alongside the Tax Manager, you will help improve processes and gain insight into the tax requirements of an international business. There is scope to develop your knowledge beyond VAT, supporting a manager whose remit includes corporation tax and deferred tax.

About you

You have practical VAT experience and enjoy getting into the detail, investigating questions and producing accurate work. You could be:

• A Tax Assistant or VAT Analyst looking to broaden your experience.
• An Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or Bookkeeper who regularly handles VAT returns and queries.
• Working in accountancy practice and considering a move into industry.

Experience dealing with HMRC would be useful. Formal qualifications are welcome, but your practical VAT knowledge and diligent approach matter most. Experienced candidates who have built their expertise through their work are encouraged to apply.
